Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing experience! The Defensive Driving course at Sandown was an enjoyable and highly educational day. Skilled instructors took you through proper braking techniques, seating position, grip and hand position on the steering wheel, all followed through with a practical element, such as emergency stops at 60 km/h and salom driving around cones at higher speeds . We had a lengthy theoretical aspect of the day, which was broken up into hourly or half hourly sections, so that we got the most time doing the practical side of the day. The most important aspect of the day in my opinion was learning about the different types of skids you can end up in whilst driving and then how to get out of them. 5 April 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by Getting back to basics How much have driving techniques changed since I got my license? Well it turns out they have changed quite a bit. No surprise really since its over 30 years since I learnt to drive. Since then features such as ABS, ESC, and airbags have been added to cars. This course was a fantastic opportunity to refresh basic skills and learn how to drive properly to take advantage of these new features. 27 March 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by All drivers should do it. The normal perception is that this is just for young drivers. Young drivers should do it but so should older drivers who think they know it all. I am 65 and still consider myself to be quite competent. I haven't caused an accident since I was in my early 20's but I decided to do the course to see how I am doing. Simple things like driving position, tyre pressure maintenance and where to look when driving are important are not universally followed. Critical things like what you car does in an emergency are experienced first hand in a safe environment and the ability to avoid a dangerous situation visibly improves during the day. I feel much more alert and safer as a result of doing the course. Highly recommended! 18 January 2013

This course teaches you how to become a safer driver, and also how to control your vehicle in emergency situations. Loved the day - the instructors were friendly, and instructive. 28 December 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Highly Recommended For Everyone! This was an amazing experience, and I learned a lot. I have taken the skills I learned and applied it to everyday driving. The extra knowledge of knowing how your car performs in specific conditions is very important and I truly believe every driver should take this course to truly under stand their car and it braking, steering and safety performance. 18 November 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 The day was extremely well organised from start to finish. The instructors were very professional, extremely knowledgable and friendly. Great for any age or stage driver to complete. After 24 years driving experience I still came away with a whole list of new skills! I'd definitely recommend this course and will be booking my kids in when they start to drive.
