Rated 5 out of 5 by A fantastic introduction to nighttime photography This was a fantastic course. Having low numbers in the group, each person got a lot of individual attention. We didn't just learn the basics of night photography, we also learned some very fun techniques to make artistic shots. I've been able to put a lot of what I learned into practice and for the first time have known what I'm doing with using my manual setting. Highly recommend it! 3 March 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding teacher This is the second course I've done through Red Balloon with Penny. I learnt so much more than I thought I was going to. Penny has a wonderful way of explaining things and knows the answer to every question. The small groups ensure that Penny has plenty of time to be with you and your camera throughout the course. I can't recommend Penny enough and look forward to doing another photography short course with her soon. 30 January 2013

What I learnt in 2 hours would take ten times as long reading books and manuals and I still wouldn't have learnt as much as on this course. Great value, nice and knowledgeable instructor, highly recommended. 25 January 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Well organised and very informative and enjoyable for all levels of photographers Penny had organised options in case of rain - but good weather prevailed after all. Very well organised and very good value for the 2 hours we spent on the course. Group was small enough that everyone got personal attention. Catered for all levels of knowledge, so whether you are a conplete novice or a little more experienced, you'll get valuable learning from this short course. 24 January 2013

I was a little nervous before the Night photography, thinking I wouldn't have the knowledge of others participating, but the instructor explained everything in detail but without wasting time. A small group meant we all got individual attention and we all left smiling and feeling like we got great photo's but tips and tricks we never knew - even those with more experience. 5 December 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic opportunity to learn from an expert! The class was briefed fully before the session, including notes and list of essentials. The night of the session the small group of students assembled on time at the pre-determined location. The instructor was well prepared and moved seamlessly from introductory remarks, essentials, basics to the first shoot setup. The small class size was excellent for allowing adequate personal attention to each student on each shot, with unhurried question and answer time and suggestions for re-adjustments and trials at each shot site. The variety of shot sites pre-selected by the instructor was excellent for variety and changes of methods for different photo-effects. The two-hour session gave a good introduction to night photography techniques and opportunities, but it was over before realising the time spent. Time flies when you are learning and having fun! Rated 5 out of 5 by Great workshop and learning experience Can't rave about this enough. Great workshop to do. I enjoyed the night. We had perfect weather. Penny was great and really helpful. The group size is good. You get one-on-one help as she goes to each photographer. I learnt a lot of things from using settings, cool photo techniques and even things about my camera that I didn't know were there, even though they were right in front of me. I have always loved night shots and now I want to get out there and do more with the new knowledge I have. Thanks Penny. 20 November 2012
