Rated 5 out of 5 by Lovely seafood meal, great service and view We took this seafood dinner as a delayed Father's Day gift and had a delightful three course seafood meal. Staff were friendly, treated us as though wee were really special guests. Suggested we have dessert instead of the third seafood dish but we opted for the barramundi and mussels cooked in tomato, chillies and wine.Yum! Was a great decision as this was the best dish of the night. 20 January 2013

Great service, fantastic location, easy parking, lovely restaurant with a very casual and relaxed feel and a copious amount of beautiful fresh seafood! What more could you ask for? We had a booking for 6 people, but at the last minute 1 person couldn't make it so the restaurant offered us a free bottle of wine and desserts all round to make up the difference of the voucher we had purchased several months earlier. The easieness of booking the restaurant we wanted, the quality of food, staff and service was without doubt THE BEST! Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic gift for Xmas The whole experience was fantastic. From the time we left home in the morning at 10am. We caught the Parramatta rivercat from Homebush, which took about 40 minutes to Darlingharbour. We hopped off at King street warf and only had to walk about 200 meters to Nicks Seafood. We arrived there at 12 and was given the best seat in the house. Right at the front of the restaurant, where we watched the world go by. The 3 coarse meal was huge, shared between 2 people, it took us 2 hours to consume. The waiter could not have been more attentive. He kept telling us to take our time and enjoy. So we did!! Our waiter was so accomadating (David) and polite was there ready and waiting before and after each course to offer more drinks or etc. Our food was sublime best seafood we have had in ages. It was truly a beautiful evening. Would really say to anyone who wants a great food & dining experience go all out with this restaurant. 17 January 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Impressive! I received this Experience from my daughter for my birthday in April, and booked in for lunch on the Friday after Christmas with my husband. We didn't eat breakfast that morning so we could really enjoy our seafood lunch. We arrived at the restaurant at 12 and the friendly hostess showed us to our table. It was a front row table with a view to the Marina and the boardwalk. The waiter (with a beautiful French accent) asked us what we would like to drink and explained the menu. I thought it was going to be a tasting menu for the first two plates and then a full main dish. I was wrong! The first plate came out and we enjoyed the several varieties of seafood on display. The second plate came out about 20 minutes later, and it was another sensational mix. Then after another 20 minutes the waiter came to ask if we would be ready for our main. We said yes thanks and that arrived about 15 minutes later..a whole fish, and a large bowl of mussels in a tomato sauce, hot chips, and salad! This was a fantastic seafood experience! It would have fed four people, and we felt terrible that we couldn't eat all of our main, no matter how hard we tried! The service was amazing, the food was sensational, the experience was more than we could have asked for! Sensational experience and could recommend over and over again! 12 January 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Exceeded expectations I have experienced a couple of Red Balloon experiences and found them satisfactory. It was with some reservations that I booked this experience to celebrate my wedding anniversary. After booking, I was somewhat dismayed when I read reviews of Red Balloon and the restaurant I had chosen. Mostly unsatisfactory. However, my wife and I found that it was quite enjoyable. The food was mostly tasty and well prepared, the service was mostly good and we both finished our experience with a sense of a good meal to help us celebrate a special day. The only minor disappointment was that the voucher was not delivered on the requested day. 10 January 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by As a seafood lover I taye the experience as 10/10 This lunch was a birthday present from my son and his family in Melbourne. My wife and I love sesfood and were delighted with the quality and varirty of the dishes served to us. The reception we received on arrival and the attention gven to us by each of the staff was five star standard. Although we drove iito Sydney for over an hour and a half from the Central Coast we would do so again without hestitation to repeat this magnificent meal. 5 January 2013

The whole evening was excellent, from the moment we were greeted (and seated at a premium table) to the moment we left, great location, warm and friendly service, sensational food. We enjoyed a variety of dishes and each was delicious, this is a great way to enjoy a sampling of great local seafood served brilliantly. If you don't receive this experience as a gift, I urge you to treat yourself! 28 December 2012

The view was fantastic, the service was excellent and the food superb!! There was more than enough food for the two of us and the selection was great. I would highly recommend this dining experience to anyone. We are definitely going back for more. 20 December 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by Expectations fullfilled. This was a long awaited experience and our expectations were more than fullfilled. The experience was overflowing with more seafood than 2 people can comfortably eat. The 3 courses started moderately with Moreton Bay Bugs, Oysters and Fresh Prawns followed up with a variety of deep fried Calamari ,Baby Octopus etc and finally the whole fish together with a bowl of Muscels in that delightfull tomato base sauce and deep fries and Greek sald was just too much. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Food,Excellent Service,Fantastic Spot. We were seated quickly and given a lovely table out front with views across the water and being a balmy night, was perfect. Our waiter came and explained the meal to us and then it was all action. Food was well presented and tasty, with three courses of seafood or 2 courses of seafood and dessert. 1st course comprised oysters, salt&pepper calamari,smoked salmon and balmain bugs.2nd course comprised grilled whiting fillets,fried king prawns,tempura soft shelled crab & chargrilled octopus.Finally finishing with the grilled barramundi. Wine was excellent, they had our favorite Rose. Then we finished off with a short black and biscotti. I would recommend this experience to everyone who loves seafood. 17 December 2012

Rated 2 out of 5 by This was a disappointing experience. Had a very good table before it was realised that we were with Red Balloon - then it was into the middle of restaurant. We had made a 5.30pm booking and service was good up to 7.00pm when it became virtually non existent - couldn't get a drink. Food was average - fish was overcooked and plate dominated by the large serving of chips. Really, if this is a seafood dining experience dominated with overcooked fish, bread rolls and chips - then I'm sorry, we cannot give it a recommendation. This dining experience was a gift to us. I would hate to think how much it cost because it looked expensive. 16 December 2012
